So today I have been buried in branding…
Or rather, rebranding.
And it’s something I’d like you to think about as well as we gaze ahead at this year full of new possibilities (and success).
It’s a subject that has become unnecessarily complicated so let me briefly break down how I did it so you can do the same:
First, I decided on my focus and a clear phrase/short sentence that expresses that.
I already know the values that underpin that focus but you may like to think about those as well.
I then chose the fonts and colours that reflect all of the above and created my own palette – you could do this on Canva or at https://www.colourlovers.com/
I then created templates for my presentations, ebooks and social media posts that reflect all of the above and which I will use to create the courses and products that also reflect my brand. Again, Canva is your friend here as well as Adobe Spark.
I’ll be applying all of this to my website tomorrow so stay tuned and if you’d like more detail on branding than my necessarily brief explanation, there’s a good tutorial here:
And another one here:
It’s not only essential to brand yourself so you stand out, it’s even more important to make sure your brand reflects you and your business.
Don’t be tempted to sink into that mass of me-too marketing – be brave and, if they’re zigging, maybe you should zag, i.e. don’t follow that shiny herd.
I’ve made it sound super simple but I have run my business for over ten years and know my brand inside it. What I have done for myself today is more of a cohesion exercise as well as a refresher.
So don’t worry if it takes you some time to pull it all together. It should if you let your ideas percolate and do it properly.
I’ll give you some more tips on that tomorrow but, for now, will leave you with a couple of recommendations that I think could prove valuable to you.
Firstly, this from the rather wonderful Erica Stone on increasing the engagement you get from your affiliate clicks with a super simple but highly effective trick:

And the latest essential checklist from Kevin Fahey – this time to help you build membership sites the way he does for the sites that bring him in over 40k a month (I know Kevin and I can assure you he’s the real deal):
