I saw a post on Facebook, yesterday which got me thinking.
It was from a guy who had managed to lose a lot of weight and now looks fantastic. And he done it by remembering his why.
Now, sometimes we get so lost in what we’re building, or trying to build that we forget why we’re doing it in the first place, and this is particularly true when you’re working online, and often alone.
So what I want you to do today is to remember your why.
Why did you start doing this in the first place?
Why are you still doing it?
It’s important to make your why as compelling as possible. I don’t want to know whether it’s just for the money – I want the emotional driver beneath it.
Okay, you might want to earn some money online.
But why is it because you want to quit your job?
Is it because you don’t have enough money coming in and you want to put food on the table and keep a roof over your head?
Is it because you want to prove to your family that you can succeed at this?
Is it because you want to prove to yourself that you can succeed at this? Do you see there are so many different reasons why you might be doing something. And it can be so helpful to remember why we’re doing it in the first place so we re-energises what we are doing.
So go ahead, grab a piece of paper and write down your why in a sentence or a few sentences if you need to, but keep it brief.
Your big, bold, why. Use it to remind yourself why you’re doing this. And to help you keep doing it with even more energy and passion.
